Drama Therapy India (DTI) developed initially as a peer group to build a community of drama therapists in India and take the field forward, is now a 13 member registered Association established in 2022, which aims to keep growing with more trained drama therapists in the country. As drama-therapy awaits legal recognition into the Mental Health Acts of India, DTI members are working relentlessly towards: advocacy of the field, getting legal regulations and recognition for drama-therapy practice across the country, and making drama-therapy training more accessible for Indian students.
SAMAH IKRAM
Samah Ikram, MA, RDT, LCAT, is a Pakistani-American drama therapist, and has experience working in various spaces within New York City, including hospitals, non-profit organizations, assisted living, schools and private practice. She is currently working on introducing and implementing drama therapy techniques in Lahore, Pakistan.

Chanaphan is a registered dramatherapist and a founder of Dramatherapy Thailand Association (DTTH). After completing her training in 2008, she worked as a dramatherapist at mental health hospitals in Bangkok and as a course lecturer at Bangkok University. Currently, she is registered for a research PhD, “Developing Dramatherapy Approaches for Thai Adult Patients with PTSD” at the Cambridge Institute for Music Therapy Research (CIMTR), Anglia Ruskin University (UK).
